Finally trying out the new 15' bamboo pole I made over the winter.
I harvested this piece of bamboo from my neighbors lawn and straightened it with a homemade straightening tool. It has dried out a good bit since then and it is now light and ready for some fishing. I need to lacquer this one soon.
This spot is one of my favorite creek fishing holes and it usually delivers a few catfish and bass. I woke up really early this day and fished all morning until I ran out of night crawlers and it got to hot to be out.
This type of trip is just good old fashion fun to me. The cane pole keeps it so simple and fishing the earthworms something is bound to bite. Everyone has their own way of fishing and this right here has been my go-to for a while now.
I love the nightcrawlers and they are easy to fish but I want to challenge myself this fishing season. My goal is to source more bait from the creek/river itself including crawfish, minnows, and whatever else I can find
