The way she is able to excel at each and any event, and/or distance, only goes to show what an extraordinary athlete she is. Now that the Olympics have come and gone, the World Championships are up, and champions, like Sydney herself, will get to defend their titles.
Before that though, there is a long road for all of them. As is pretty obvious, the pressure to show up and perform is high for world-class athletes like Sydney. For the most part, she is able to live up to people’s expectations. Case in point: Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone was named women’s track athlete of the year at the World Athletics Awards 2024 in Monaco after a season in which she twice lowered her own world 400-meter hurdles record and retained her Olympic title.
