❤️ DON'T TRUST THE MEDIA... All of Syria was not a war zone and in 2025 Syria is FREE! Travel to the Mediterranean Coast and you'll find TARTUS, the SAFEST city in SYRIA. There's so many places to see and things to do in Tartus, Syria in 2025 and this Syria video shows you the highlights in 24 hours!

On a Walking Tour of Tartus I discovered the OLD CITY of Tartus, which on the outside is beautifully restored gate, but inside the houses are crumbling. There I met so many cute kids who I later found again swimming in the Mediterranean Sea.
5,000 year old ARWAD ISLAND is Syria's only inhabited island. There I explored the Arwad Citadel and Arwad Prison before walking along the ruined city walls, having freshly caught CHILI TUNA for lunch and getting very silly with the island kids (have you ever shouted "bread on the head"?)
Back on the mainland I visited KRAK de CHEVELIERS, one of the most important preserved medieval castles in the world, and was once home to over 2,00 crusaders. It's one of many UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Syria.
Nearby AMRIT is the sister city to Arwad. Built by the Phoenicians 5,000 years ago, here I found the super well preserved ruins of a massive temple. I also visited a gladiator stadium that predates the Colosseum in Rome / Acropolis in Greece. Some say that the Olympic Games actually started right here in Syria!
My last stop in Amrit was the Necropolis, where I found massively tall burial tombs. So cool to have this place entirely to myself!

في جولة سيرًا على الأقدام في طرطوس، اكتشفت مدينة طرطوس القديمة، والتي من الخارج عبارة عن بوابة مُرممة بشكل جميل، لكن المنازل في الداخل متداعية. هناك قابلت العديد من الأطفال اللطفاء الذين وجدتهم لاحقًا يسبحون مرة أخرى في البحر الأبيض المتوسط.
جزيرة أرواد التي يبلغ عمرها 5000 عام هي الجزيرة الوحيدة المأهولة بالسكان في سوريا. هناك استكشفت قلعة أرواد وسجن أرواد قبل أن أسير على طول أسوار المدينة المدمرة، بعد أن تناولت وجبة غداء من سمك التونة الحار، ومارسنا بعض المرح مع أطفال الجزيرة (هل صرخت يومًا "خبز على الرأس"؟)
عند عودتي إلى البر الرئيسي، زرت قلعة شيفيلييه، وهي واحدة من أهم القلاع المحفوظة في العصور الوسطى في العالم، وكانت ذات يوم موطنًا لأكثر من 2000 من الصليبيين. وهي واحدة من العديد من مواقع التراث العالمي لليونسكو في سوريا.
تقع مدينة أمريت القريبة بالقرب من مدينة أرواد. وقد بناها الفينيقيون قبل 5000 عام، وهنا وجدت أطلال معبد ضخم محفوظة بشكل جيد للغاية. كما زرت ملعبًا للمصارعين سبق الكولوسيوم في روما / الأكروبوليس في اليونان. يقول البعض إن الألعاب الأولمبية بدأت بالفعل هنا في سوريا!
كانت محطتي الأخيرة في أمريت هي مدينة المقابر، حيث وجدت مقابر دفن شاهقة الارتفاع. من الرائع أن يكون هذا المكان ملكي بالكامل!
