Video Not Working? Fix It Now

In this episode of Table Talk, Anu Pande and Susan Haris from the Indian Animal Studies Collective talk to Liza B. Bauer from Justus Liebig University Giessen about her new book, "Livestock and Literature: Reimagining Postanimal Companion Species". The conversation focused on the term "postanimal" and its implications in sci-fi narratives, discussed the role of literature in challenging societal norms, and explored the shift in humanities from difference and alterity to similarity and relationality. Liza argued that sci-fi animal narratives can work towards deindustrializing readers' imaginations, and that postanimal figures invite readers to a playful removal of human-animal differences, serving as a training ground for the imagination.
