泰安鄉是苗栗縣面積最大的鄉鎮，全鄉有一半以上的面積被劃為雪霸國家公園範圍，加上平地有限，因此，限制了泰安鄉的發展，但也保留了豐富的自然生態環境。由於交通不便，人口稀少，近年來，苗栗縣政府在本鄉規劃了多個遊樂區，像是竹林秘境、清安豆腐街、泰安溫泉風景區、雪霸國家公園、雪見遊憩區、露營區等。

Tai'an Township is the largest township in Miaoli County. More than half of the township is designated as part of the Shei-Pa National Park. In addition, the limited develop land has restricted the development of Tai'an Township, but it has also preserved a rich natural ecological environment, due to inconvenient transportation and sparse population. The Miaoli County Government has planned several recreational areas in the township in recent years, such as. Tai'an Bamboo Forest, Qing'an Tofu Street, Tai'an Hot Spring Scenic Area, Shei-Pa National Park, Xuejian Recreation Area, Camping Area, etc.
