One of the most well-known architects from the 20th century, Frank Lloyd Wright would spend his winters in this marvelous desert sanctuary located in the foothills of Scottsdale, Arizona. Here he had built an artistically engineered architecture lab for him to toil away in and dream up his wonderful designs.

Built and completed in 1937, Wright worked diligently along with his apprentices to construct an atmosphere of architectural inspiration that is still intact and available for the public to see today.

We came to Glendale AZ to visit with friends and watch the Superbowl. One of the things we all chose to see while visiting there was Taliesin West. You can visit their website (franklloydwright.org) for information, reservations, and tickets.

Some of the shots look a little shaky, however. I was using a new camera, a Panasonic CH-X2000 4K camcorder, and discovered too late that the optical image stabilizer (OIS) was not activated. I'll work hard not to make that mistake again. It's a heavier unit and does not do great in low light. It's still a kickass piece of equipment all the same. I hope you enjoy our visit to Mr. Wright's home.
