1947ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿತಗೊಂಡ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಠ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಿಷನ್, "ಮಾನವನಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರ ಸೇವೆ ಎಂಬ ಉಕ್ತಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸರ್ವರ ಒಳಿತಿಗಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಕಲರ ಅಭ್ಯುದಯ ಎಂಬ ಆಶಯ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ವಿವೇಕಾನಂದರಿಂದ ಕಟ್ಟಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ವಿಶ್ವ ವಿಖ್ಯಾತ ಬೇಲೂರು ರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಠ ಮತ್ತು ಮಿಷನ್ ನ ಅಂಗಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
1947ರಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಗೊಂಡ ಈ ಮಂಗಳೂರ ರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಠ ಬಹುಜನರ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸುತ್ತಲಿದ್ದರೆ. 1951ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಯಾದ ಮಿಷನ್ ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಬಡ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವಶ್ಯಕ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಬಾಲಕಾಶ್ರಮ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಆಶ್ರಮದ ಸುತ್ತ ಮುತ್ತಲ ಆರ್ಥಿಕವಾಗಿ ಹಿಂದುಳಿದ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಕಲಿಕಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರವನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಅಭ್ಯುದಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಚಟುವಟಿಕೆ ಗಳನ್ನೂ ಆಯೋಜಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ.
