Talking History is a documentary series on Rajya Sabha TV charting the past of fabulous Indian cities and their history. In this episode we talk about the decline of Mughal empire after Shahjahan. As Aurangzeb took over after a bloody battle against his own brothers, his rule, though saw the consolidation of Mughal empire, it was also the time of the rise of Marathas and Sikhs. While Marathas were valiantly led by Shivaji, who took on the Mughals, the Sikhs under their ninth guru Guru Tegh Bahadur had begun to spread its influence. The East India Company too began to spread its hold with the turn of 19th century.
