Savaal is a Tamil language film starring Kamal Haasan, Jaishankar, Y.G. Mahendra and Lakshmi. The film which was a remake of Hindi film Haath Ki Safai (1976) was released on 3 July 1981 and did well at box office.The music was composed by M. S. Viswanathan, with lyrics by Kannadasan and Vairamuthu.
Brothers Shankar and Raja decide to go to the city for better opportunities post their mother's death. However, they get separated while travelling on a goods train.
