Adam Penning takes a nostalgic trip to one of his old haunts, Cleverley Mere in Essex for this chapter of TA|Insights. A heavily pressured, relatively small venue containing some lovely old carp that have certainly seen it all over the years. With the weed at its highest and the water being incredibly clear it represented a huge challenge to make something happen in a 48-hour session. With so much to contend with, finding the perfect spot for a hookbait is key, as is ensuring the spooky, old carp don’t do a vanishing act into the many nooks and crannies the historic venue has to offer. Never to be defeated, Adam pulls out all the stops to ensure he puts some fish in his net, even if it did take maximum effort! If you want to improve your fishing in weedy situations, then this film is certainly unmissable!
