Video Not Working? Fix It Now

The tool-assisted rapper is speedrunning saving the world again, but this time it's in a... prototype? Info about the proto can be found below:
https://archive.org/details/PaRappatheRapper2Jul122001prototype
A speedrun of the US version can be found here: https://youtu.be/V4wNPzSpij8

Apologies for the black box appearing in the video, we haven't found a way to remove it in the NTSC-J prototype yet.
Happy 10 years, chinese! Enjoy the references throughout the video!

Time can be saved by time warping by entering and leaving COOL mode under some circumstances. Entering and leaving COOL mode during the middle of each lesson in stages 2, 3, and 7 (only on lessons 1 and 3) can skip significant portions of the songs, specifically the intermissions. By taking advantage of the shorter lines in higher difficulties, we can save a bit of time on every stage except for stage 6 (due to having more longer lines than shorter lines and having pauses) and stage 4 (due to its long COOL mode transition). This strategy can also be used when you unlock the yellow hat.

"Stage 3 is rather peculiar when it comes to time warps, since the length of the COOL and GOOD tracks are different. The time warps act pretty normal until Lesson 3/4. After Lesson 2, leaving COOL mode does not warp you into the future as much, and going into COOL on Lesson 4 does not warp backwards. Thanks to this mechanic on Lesson 4, ending in COOL mode is actually faster than ending in GOOD mode by two seconds."

Using shuriken mode or easy mode will skip the bonus stages, which will happen after Stages 2, 4, and 6, saving 7 seconds each time. However, points earned will be halved. Stage 2 is played without shuriken mode since the time save from time warping is more significant, about 24 seconds.

Loading times are also a factor to speedrunning PaRappa 2, and it depends on the condition of your PlayStation 2 console (or the version of the emulator you're using, e.g. PCSX2). For PCSX2, enabling fast CDVD will lessen loading times. As for the PS2, it all comes down to the hardware.

29;04 if timed from boot-up, 28;51 if timed from pressing start on the title screen. Timer stops after the last line in stage 8.

Due to the nature of PS2 emulation as of now (desyncing, loading times, etc.), I will not provide the moviefile for this TAS, and this will not be submitted to TASVideos.
