Tsula Lopen Rinpoche, also known as Tsugla Lopen Rinpoche, is a highly respected Buddhist scholar and spiritual leader in Bhutan. He is one of the five Lopen Rinpoches of the Central Monastic Body, responsible for Bhutan's religious education and the supervision of various Buddhist schools, colleges, and universities.
His Eminence Tsugla Lopen Rinpoche - Karma Rangdrol is one of the six eminent members of the Monastic Council for Education & Research (the highest authority of Bhutanese Buddhism) and also one of the five Lopen Rinpoches of the Central Monastery Body, responsible for Bhutan's religious education, supervising the educational work of various Buddhist schools, colleges, and universities in Bhutan.
Rinpoche is a lineage holder of the Vajrayana Drukpa Kargyu (White Sect Mahamudra) and Nyingma (Red Sect Dzogchen) traditions. He has shown extraordinary wisdom since childhood. He became a monk at the age of 8 and was appointed as the dean of a Buddhist college at the age of 25. He then practiced in retreat, deepening his esoteric practice and achieving siddhi. In 2003, he established two Buddhist colleges in eastern Bhutan, widely promoting the Dharma. In 2015, he was appointed as the spiritual leader of a district in eastern Bhutan. In 2020, he was elected as a spiritual mentor, granted the title of 'Pedma Acharya', becoming one of the five Lopen Rinpoches in the Central Monastic Body, second only to the Je Khenpo, and is known as "His Eminence Tsugla Lopen Rinpoche".
