LATE BREAKING NEWS – After producing this video, I made contact with descendants of David Churchill’s family; Marilla’s. They are going to give me a lot of additional information about her and I will update that here as it comes in.
But for now, I just found out that Marilla and George had only been married a few short months when she died. Her comb was a wedding gift from her husband George. The comb was found about a foot down in the dug up grave with some of her hair in it, which was a very unusual color - still on the comb.

James Lovell's home still stands at the northwest corner of the intersection of present day Old State and Henderson Roads, which is Northeast of Sycamore. Will go there and include for part 2.

THIS STORY:
In 1849, the sleepy settlement of St. Charles Illinois was turned upside down by an angry mob of villagers from a neighboring town. They had descended upon this place from nearby Sycamore, to recover and avenge the dastardly body snatching of one of the town’s beloved teenage daughters.
Under the cover of darkness, three young medical students from St. Charles, riding secretly by horse and wagon, raided the gravesite and snatched her body, keeping it hidden until it could be safely brought to the school for examination. But the act did not go unnoticed, and when word spread, the residents of Sycamore became enraged. What happened next was an event now called "Richards Riot".
TODAY - The societies, museums and other historians have the wrong basic information, which would have identified the full name and tragic end of this beautiful teenage daughter. Come with us as we put the pieces of the puzzle together to find out who she truly was, and how she died, as Ron walks the cemetery and tells the entire horrific tale. If you watch closely and pay careful attention on the way, you can solve the mystery near the end, as we follow the same path that Ron took in order to figure it out.

The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.
