I wish I knew then what I know now. After 4 years travelling Australia, Top 10 things I wish I knew before traveling Australia full-time
1. Number Big Comfy Chairs, A Waste of Money
Don't buy big comfy chairs, instead sensible chairs that are easy to move and easy to store. You should be paying between $50 and 150 dollars.
2. Add A Bed Topper For Your Best Sleep
A bed topper. Make certain you've got something to keep you warm, because out in the desert gets very cold. You might even think about getting a water bottle and pair of ski socks
3. A Water Bladder vs 20 Litre Water Containers
A dozen single little throw away water bottles as an emergency. Or make certain you have good filters on your blue hoses. You could consider a big water bladder say 120 to 180 litres, but be aware of the weight, that'll be an extra 120 to 180 kilograms.
4. How Much Solar ?
Solar panels, the most you're caravan can fit and maybe a portable solar blanket. You can't always park in an open area and sometimes it's nice to park in the shade and get your solar from somewhere else
5. AGM or Lithium Batteries
Batteries no point throwing out something if it's good. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
If you've already got one or two AGM batteries about 120ah, that might get you through.
6. A Hobby To Keep Your Sanity
Have a hobby, maybe download Libby and/or Borrow Box and then you can get free talking books from your local library. I used my library to start down loading free audio books real.
7. Get Organised or Lose Your Keys
Have a system and get organised. Write out an arrival list and setup or departure list, either print it or save it on your phone. It lists everything to do on arrival and everything to do about leaving camp
8. Money, Budget And Expenses
Money, budget and expenses. Unless money is no object, it drains away like water if you have no budget.
If you maintain that old lifestyle, you will almost definitely go through between 1200 and 1500 dollars a week, and that will definitely make it feel a bit stressed

9. Don’t Waste Money On The Ultimate Caravan
Car and caravan setup. You don't need an expensive setup. Take it easy and you will be able to tackle most tracks.
10. Generator , A Must Have
This is controversial, because a lot of people say generators are a waste your time. For me, it was an essential, because I use my laptop all the time for editing, and that drains a lot of battery.
11. Keep receipts For Your Warranties
Everything you buy, when you get the receipt make certain to take a photo of the receipt. Without that receipt, you have no proof of purchase and your warranty is useless.

* Beware just flushing everything down the sink, it has a small diameter and can get clogged easily. It’s a bit difficult to clean a clogged caravan drain and can cause some nasty smells
* Measure your car absolute height and caravan absolute height and print it and leave it inside the front of the car
