The Egyptian underworld - The Kingdom of Osiris - The Duat. Thanks to the large number of original, ancient Egyptian sources such as the Book of the Dead, the Amduat, or the Book of Gates we can trace each step of the deceased on his long and dangerous journey to the Egyptian paradise - the Field of Reeds. But what happened when the deceased had not obeyed the sacred law of Maat during their lifetime?
I want to tell you more about the ancient Egyptian demons, which not only dwelled in Duat, as one might think but also were able to “pay a visit” to the living. We will also learn more about the obstacles the deceased had to overcome on his way to the afterlife and about the fate of those who, after the Judgment of Osiris, were sent to the Egyptian hell, also known as the Place of Annihilation. We will venture into the darkest and most terrifying places of the Duat and meet the mysterious and some of the most bizarre creatures inhabiting it.
