Important Context:
This video includes charging stops and parking lots, but these are known limitations of the current FSD system. The software requires manual driving in parking lots and the final approach to charging stations — though the car can generally auto-park in perpendicular spaces. I have left charging stop interventions out of the above calculations to focus on the situations that FSD is currently designed to handle. There were some 20 charging, hotel and rest area stops.
Similarly, while FSD can navigate through toll plazas, it sometimes needs help choosing the correct lane — these are edge cases the system is still learning to handle. I intentionally left the charging stop interventions out of the above calculations, but mention them here for full transparency.
Every intervention is shown, showing both FSD's capabilities and current limitations. The system handled snow, rain, traffic, and complex highway situations across 15 states with remarkable consistency.
Outside of parking lots and charging stops, there were 21 brief interventions totaling 5m20s:
