Tesla Wall Connector DIY Installation instructions with hidden wires and no visible conduit. We install the electric vehicle charger in our garage from start to finish. The electric supply wires are hidden behind the wall so all that is exposed is the Tesla wall connector. This device uses a 60amp breaker and charges the Tesla at the full 48 amps that it can accept from a level 2 charger. We used #6 THHN wire which is rated for 75 amps. We have a Siemens load center (breaker box). If you have a different load center you will need to get the appropriate breaker for that load center. ***WARNING*** Electricity is dangerous and can cause injury or death. If you are in doubt or not comfortable please do not attempt this yourself. Please contact a licensed electrician to perform the work for you. Sign Up For Community Solar. Tesla unveiled it in March 2019, started production at its Fremont plant in January 2020 and started deliveries on March 13, 2020. It is the second vehicle based on the Model 3 sedan platform. The Model Y shares an estimated 75% of its parts with the Tesla Model 3, which includes a similar interior design and electric powertrain. Model Y offers optional third-row seats for a seven-passenger seating capacity, The Model Y fills a smaller and less expensive segment than the full-sized Tesla Model X. There were four planned powertrain configurations for the Model Y: Standard Range Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD), Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive, Long Range with Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD), and Performance (with Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive). The Long Range AWD model and the Performance model are currently being delivered. The Standard Range RWD configuration was initially canceled in July 2020, due to the range (230 miles EPA) being unacceptably low to Musk, but was orderable as of January 2021 (with 244 miles of EPA range). As of February 3, 2021, the Long Range RWD appears to have been cancelled. Like every Tesla, Model Y is designed to be the safest vehicle in its class. The low center of gravity, rigid body structure and large crumple zones provide unparalleled protection. Model Y provides maximum versatility—able to carry 7 passengers and their cargo. Each second row seat folds flat independently, creating flexible storage for skis, furniture, luggage and more. The liftgate opens to a low trunk floor that makes loading and unloading easy and quick. Tesla All-Wheel Drive has two ultra-responsive, independent electric motors that digitally control torque to the front and rear wheels—for far better handling, traction and stability control. Model Y is capable in rain, snow, mud and off-road. Model Y is fully electric, so you never need to visit a gas station again. If you charge overnight at home, you can wake up to a full battery every morning. And when you’re on the road, it’s easy to plug in along the way—at any public station or with the Tesla charging network. Tesla currently has over 20,000 Superchargers worldwide, with six new locations opening every week. All new Tesla cars come standard with emergency braking, collision warning, blind-spot monitoring and more. Model Y will have Full Self-Driving capability, enabling automatic driving on city streets and highways pending regulatory approval, as well as the ability to come find you anywhere in a parking lot. With an elevated seating position and low dash, the driver has a commanding view of the road ahead. The interior of Model Y is simple and clean, with a 15-inch touch screen, immersive sound system and an expansive all-glass roof that creates extra headroom and provides a seamless view of the sky. #InChargeDIY #tesla #teslawallconnector
