Texas Pride dump trailer with steeper 56 degree dump angle

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

We installed a 135 inch stroke cylinder meant for their 16 ft dump trailer on my 7x14x3 20K Gooesneck, its actually up to 55.5 degree dump angle now vs the 43-44 angle it had before sitting in exact same spot, the way its sitting on my truck on flat cement driveway, but I'm calling it 56 because that was the target angle with this modification. I say its CLOSE ENOUGH The 14 footers are really more like 42 or 43 degrees from the factory when trailer is positioned on dead level ground, well that's closer to horizontal than it is to vertical, now its WAY closer to vertical than it is to flat. I noticed their 12 footers had a bit steeper dump angle than the 14 or 16 footers months ago in videos, I asked if we could make the 14 footer steeper when I ordered it, my salesman didn't think they had but one cylinder, well it always pays to ask more questions and then maybe even talk to somebody in the shop to be sure? anyway it turned out well, I think it was worth every penny it took me to change it out, and I still have the old cylinder left for another project. please view the videos below to see examples of why I'm also planning to move the fenders and reinforce the frame some, and its not just a thing with texas pride, and not just with dump trailers either, most every brand of trailer tends to break right by the front spring hanger, especially if you use them hard! That's a very stressful area of the frames, so I'm gonna take care of that before it has a chance to happen so Its an upgrade instead of becoming a repair later down the rd.. I already knew I would upgrade this when I bought the trailer but without actually going down there in person, I don't know if I could have gotten them to do this next upgrade as it was being built. but it needs done to every trailer on the market and I mean every brand, especially if they have a c channel or box tube frame either one, the channel iron frames and the engineered beams may not suffer this issue near as much. but that would mean a near $30,000 trailer to start off with if you ordered one from say Diamond C with all the upgrades I already have with this unit.. anyway watch these videos that I will soon post links to below and do your own research before buying a trailer from anyone with a C channel or Box tube frame.. their great but they need a little extra help in this one area for sure..
