M9 News Journalist Nishant sat with Director Chandoo Mondeti ahead of the release of his Thandel on February 7th.

Chandoo narrated elaborately about how he picked Thandel, the interactions with the twenty two fishermen and their families who languished in Pakistan Jail, the lifestyle of the fishermen, the emotional letters which left him in tears etc.

He explained in details about the term 'Thandel' and the expertise a Thandel possesses.

We asked him about the mixed response Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi's Srikakulam slang evoked.

"I will not agree if anyone complaints about the slang used in the film. Even in Srikakulam there are different slangs. The slang which we used in the film is very unique. I will agree that it is bad only if the people of that village complains," Chandoo Mondeti said.

He also revealed the ships in the storm sequence seen in the middle of the trailer.

Chandoo narrated how the sequence was made with a whopping budget of 18 Crore and was shot in five different ways - the Real Sea, Studio, Miniature, Virtual Studio, etc.

We asked him straight on the face if Thandel is predominantly a Sai Pallavi film.

We also asked if the India - Pakistan sequences will get perfectly in the proceedings.

He also narrated Naga Chaitanya's hard work, his home work to get the slang right, and how he wore re-used clothes in the film, etc

The director also revealed that the final runtime of the film is 2 hours 25 minutes and the Pakistan portions will be around 18 minutes.
