Make use of my TAB of the daunting but awesome guitar solo in Lie, Dream Theater's single from their 1994 progressive metal album Awake. John Petrucci provides a really fun challenge with this solo, which is very achievable if practised with a clear practice plan in mind.
The TAB was produced using Guitar Pro 8.
Guitar techniques explored in this solo: whole- and semitone string bends, vibrato, tremolo/whammy bar usage, alternate and economy/sweep picking, legato, tapping, slides, hammer-on and pull-offs, and unison bends.
