In this lead guitar lesson, I'll show you the three most useful guitar scales. All of these scale shapes are based on the major scale, and they're perfect for improvising guitar solos, writing songs, coming up with your own riffs, and jamming along to songs. This concept of connected scales is based on something I like to call the "homebase" which gives you a comfortable shape that can be shifted around the fretboard to play in any key.
