我们小时候特别爱吃一种果子,它入口的时候又酸又涩,但是吃完以后嘴巴里却是甜甜的,长大后才知道原来叫余甘子,我们这边也叫做滇橄榄,村里附近的滇橄榄正好熟了,今天阿霞就去摘一些回家。这种圆圆的小果儿,可以蘸辣椒面吃,也可以剁碎了炒牛肉吃,生津止渴还可以清热去火,对身体有好处。剩下没吃完的还可以加糖腌制,以后随时都能拿出来吃!
When we were kids, we loved eating a certain fruit that tasted sour and astringent when you first bit into it, but after eating, your mouth would be left with a sweet aftertaste. It wasn’t until I grew up that I learned it was called "Amla," or as we call it here, "Yunnan olive." The ones near the village are just ripe, so today I went to pick some to bring home. These small, round fruits can be eaten with chili powder, or chopped and stir-fried with beef. They stimulate saliva, quench thirst, and clear heat—great for your health. The leftover ones can be pickled with sugar, so you can enjoy them anytime!
