When General Dynamics unveiled their AbramsX tank technology demonstrator, which uses a remote turret and moves all crew members to the hull, many were quick to compare it to the infamous T-14 Armata. However, there's a much older M1 Abrams variant that trialed the crew-in-hull concept first. It was the M1 TTB (Tank Test Bed), designed during the early to mid 1980s.
