The Art of Simple Living: Cozy Spring Days in the Countryside | Cooking & Sewing Steamed Buns (Savory) Ingredients: • 400 g flour • 220 ml warm water or milk • 1 tsp dry yeast • 1 tsp sugar • 1 tsp salt • 2 tbsp oil Instructions: 1. Activate yeast: Mix warm water (or milk), yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 10 min until foamy. 2. Make dough: Add salt, oil, and flour gradually. Knead into a soft dough. Let rise for 1 hour (until doubled). 3. Shape buns: Divide into 8–10 pieces. Shape into balls. Let rest 20–30 min. 4. Steam: Place on parchment in a steamer. Steam for 10–12 min over boiling water. Don’t open the lid while steaming! Spinach-Colored Gingerbread Cookies (No Honey) Ingredients: • 150 g sugar • 100 g butter (softened) • 1 egg • Pinch of salt • 1 tsp cinnamon • ½ tsp ground ginger or vanilla (optional) • 1–2 tsp dry spinach powder (natural green coloring) • 1 tsp baking powder • 350–400 g flour Instructions: 1. Cream butter and sugar. 2. Add egg, salt, spices, and spinach powder. Mix well. 3. Add baking powder and flour gradually. Knead soft, non-sticky dough. 4. Chill for 30–60 minutes. 5. Press dough into a wooden mold dusted with flour. Trim excess. 6. Carefully remove from mold, place on baking sheet. 7. Bake at 170°C (340°F) for 10–12 minutes until slightly golden. 8.
