In February 2024, our crew of seven friends (six guys, one girl) headed out to East Tyrol, Austria, to the powder paradise of St. Jakob in Defereggen. We arrived to heavy snowfall, and on the first day, we braved the storm and hit the slopes even with low visibility in thick fog. The next morning, the sky cleared up, giving us several days of perfect bluebird conditions and untouched powder.
Throughout the trip, we experienced it all—from shredding through the forest in a snowstorm to carving epic big mountain lines and building kickers in the backcountry. East Tyrol (Defereggental) is truly a hidden gem for powder skiing.
