We recently took a road trip to the New England in the US to visit Niagara Falls, Walden Pond, Baxter State Park, Mt. Katahdin, Mt. Washington, and more.
For the second leg of the trip we were headed to Acadia National Park to hike the infamous beehive mountain. 500 feet high and vertical in some spots, this nearly 1 mile trail is one of the scariest hikes in the park. It's a little nerve wracking, but really not too bad once you're actually in the hike. After climbing beehive mountain, we head down the trail where we eventually ended up at a small lake called The Bowl.
After that, we headed back to Sand Beach near the parking lot and looked out at the Atlantic Ocean. After that, we headed to Thunder Hole, a spot along the rocky coast where the splashing tide causes thunderous claps of noise as the water splashes against the rocks.
Then, we headed to the Jordan Pond House restaurant to try out the park's famous popovers. They were quite good, and we ate lunch and enjoyed a nice dessert too.
Finally, we stayed at a cottage in Bar Harbor, Maine where we acted like buffoons for a few hours.
The next video is the final leg of the adventure where we canoe around Baxter State Park in Kidney Pond at the foothills of Mt. Katahdin.
