Even the 'easiest' 6000m peaks turn deadly when bad weather hits at high altitude... After an unsuccessful ascent of El Misti due to bad weather and not acclimatising properly, in December we attempted Volcan Chachani near Arequipa, Peru. From the moment we started our hike to Basecamp we had the constant sound of lightning hitting close by. Hail, strong winds, and a lack of visibility were forever present during this hike... We were lucky the storm settled by the evening and had a perfect weather window to summit Volcano Chachani early the next day. I'm climbing the 7 Summits from sea level and to sea level, watch the video below to find out more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qp9xsw5lFbc To follow my journey, subscribe to the YouTube channel and follow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/traintosummit/ Or if you would like to directly support my goal, please follow me on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/TraintoSummit #chachani #mountaineering #peru
