Join Rhonda and I for the journey of a lifetime with top food and service from dedicated and very friendly staff who cater for our every need.

The route between Pretoria and Cape Town is a journey of 1,600 kilometres (994 miles), through some of the most diverse and spectacular scenery in the African sub-continent.

The journey takes around 50 hours so we spend 2 nights on the train and every time you look out the window, you could be in a different country. We see isolated farms where your nearest neighbour is hours away, villages where houses are made of tin sheds to immaculate towns.

I chat to the head chef about cooking the best food you’ll ever taste, for 70 people in a confined space and where the food comes from. I also chat to fellow passengers and we stop at Kimberley to visit a diamond mine which is in another video.

I really hope you enjoy this video and it comes across what a great time we had and how diverse South Africa is.
