The film was restored by specialists from the Telekino and Computer Graphics division of the Mosfilm film concern.
Based on the novel of the same name by F.M. Dostoevsky. The tragic story of the Karamazov family takes place in a Russian province at the end of the 19th century. The relationship between the father and three brothers who are completely different from each other is complex and contradictory. One of the brothers is accused of killing his father, which he did not commit. The brothers are unable to help him, and only a loving girl follows him to hard labor. After the death of I.A. Pyryev, directors M. Ulyanov and K. Lavrov completed the work on the film.
