The Cadillac CTS-V was an Insane American Euro-Fighter That Finally Delivered on an Old Promise

*SOLD* People my age, who grew up in the 70s and 80s, have been hearing a promise from American car companies for many years - decades, even - that they will build something that can equal or even exceed the cars from the German makers. That promise went very much undelivered. The Corvette always held it's own mechanically, but the plastic-fantastic interiors and squeaks and rattles belied a lack of quality you wouldn't find in a BMW M3 or E55. Sporty sedans like the Cadillac Cimmaron or Catera aspired to compete, but ultimately failed. Enter the CTS-V. After decades of pathetic attempts, the CTS-V finally went head to head with the Germans as an equal, and acquitted itself extremely well. Handling, power, stability, fit and finish, and all the other things that make a great drivers car were present and accounted for. I love this car. It remains true to classic American car design while adding a sure-foottedness and build quality more often attributable to European cars. Thank you, GM - promise delivered.
