I got up very early on Saturday morning, eager to capture a beautiful sunrise for my latest video. Unfortunately, I was out of luck, it went from dark to grey with nothing spectacular in between. Still I love capturing scenes from around Sunderland. It really makes you appreciate how much we have and how lucky we are to have the coastline hugging the city, along with the river running through it, creating a stunning topography. Only now are we starting to make the most of this natural beauty. The twin resorts of Seaburn and Roker have seen a huge revival in recent years, with new bars, restaurants, and cafés opening up.
Meanwhile, the Riverside Sunderland regeneration is shaping a new cityscape along the banks of the Wear. With so much still to come, I personally feel the riverside remains underused, especially between Wearmouth Bridge and St. Peter’s Campus. It’s an exciting time to see these changes take shape.
