Starting at Ilford Station, we spot 37884 heading to Ilford E.M.U.D to pick up 315837 and 315857 on what will be their last ever journey on the rails — a journey to Newport Sims scrapyard where they will be shredded into unidentifiable metal pieces.
Once the 37 has picked up the 315s, we spot them blasting through Ilford, heading westbound out from London. Next, Reading Station and then the last stretch into Newport Sims.
An emotional goodbye echoed by the bassy thrash of 37884’s EE 12CSVT engine.
