In this video, we introduce a ‘RELEASE FEEL’ DRILL designed to help golfers experience the correct ARM and WRIST motion in the golf swing—possibly for the first time! Like many GOLF DRILLS, this exercise is intentionally EXAGGERATED. While the actual RELEASE occurs much later in the swing, this drill ISOLATES the WRIST and ARM motion, teaching golfers to maintain the BODY’S STRUCTURE at the top of the swing.
By slowing down the BODY and speeding up the WRISTS and ARMS, golfers can develop a smoother and FASTER RELEASE. The key is learning to FEEL the ARMS recruiting the BODY from the top of the swing. Many golfers overuse their BODY in transition, driving it ahead of the ARMS and causing the ARMS to CONTRACT through impact—diminishing clubhead speed. This drill provides the perfect solution to that common issue!
