Finally, the Curta explainer is finished, and I feel really good to cross this one on my checklist. I hope you guys will enjoy it and understand the intricate mechanisms inside.
In this video, we'll dive into the Curta's subtraction mechanisms, tens' complement, nines' complement methods, how turn counter works, and other mechanisms like clearing ring, spider spring, lock rings, zero positioning, etc. These mechanisms are so remarkable and turn the Curta into a perfect mechanical marvel.
In my video, I forgot to mention a tiny ball that gives the tactile feedback when the carriage is placed back. You can see the hole at the side of the upper main casting. This is the same kind of mechanism that is used inside the turn counter reversing lever.
