Sam Laidlow came into the London T100 as someone who had never quite fulfilled his potential over the 100k distance.
Blow ups had became all too frequent and by the time the London T100 had come around even Sam himself had ruled out a potential win.
Then when he stepped up to the start line as the only athlete in a swim skin versus a wetsuit, the whole world ruled him out of contention.
