Mary Pearcey was convicted of murdering her lover’s wife, Phoebe Hogg, and Phoebe’s infant daughter in London in 1890. Pearcey, who was having an affair with Frank Hogg, lured Phoebe to her home, where she brutally attacked and killed her. She then placed the bodies in a pram and disposed of them in different locations. Bloodstains and evidence found in Pearcey’s home led to her arrest. Despite pleading innocence, she was found guilty and executed by hanging. The case remains notorious for its brutality and speculation that Pearcey may have been Jack the Ripper, though no evidence supports this theory.
