Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Set up in a dry and harsh environment, the Monument Valley House was designed as a retreat, an oasis of relaxation far away from the crowded city. The structure blends into its surroundings, covered by corten sheets that complement the natural cliff hues and 360 degrees glazed surfaces that reflect the very same environment, together defining sharp volumetric limits through contrast between light and shadow. Its position in the national park at a higher altitutde makes this the perfect star gazing spot, an aspect taken into consideration while designing the upper terrace and the main staircase. The center courtyard has a few important roles, besides its main functional one. I filters the harsh midday sunlight and deliveres natural light to the lower level, but also acts as a ventilation shaft that keep air fresh and cool when needed most.
