The ordinary meeting of the twenty-seven European leaders in Brussels was not scheduled until the end of March, but given the haste of decisions in the Oval Office, it is very likely that it would have been too late by then. After the humiliation suffered by Volodymyr Zelensky last Friday and Donald Trump cutting off the tap to Ukraine, the community leaders met in an extraordinary meeting in Brussels on Thursday. And they did so with two objectives: to support Zelensky, who came after the clash with the United States, and to support the European Commission's plan to rearm the continent with 800 billion euros. The first was achieved with nuances, because Viktor Orbán, Vladimir Putin's greatest ally on the continent, distanced himself from it. On the other hand, Von der Leyen's plan received a clear green light.
