During World War 2, there were many women who were executed inside Plötzensee Prison's execution chamber. One woman who met her end on the guillotine there was Irena Bernaskova, a Czech lady who had resisted the German occupation of her lands. Despite not being German she was sentenced to death for treason, but her execution was harrowing and brutal on the German guillotine, the fallbeil.
