Lately we have somehow forgotten about sundresses, but in autumn and winter they are the most suitable clothing, instead of skirts and dresses.
Most often, a sundress is associated with summer, thin straps, airy fabrics. But in the cold season, this type of clothing is just as relevant. But the choice of material is important here. It should be warm and match with turtlenecks, blouses, shirts and other long-sleeved blouses.

This is exactly the kind of sundress I will sew. The pattern is the simplest, without complex elements, and is immediately transferred to the fabric. The measurements you will need are chest circumference. Everything else is done according to the scheme.
1) After cutting, I connected the shoulder and side seams. Now you can do the fitting.
2) Despite the simple pattern, there are clearly not enough darts, the fabric puffs up at the bust line. This problem is easy to fix. To do this, I pinched the excess fabric and marked the dart locations.
3) Next I sewed up the side seams.
4) When everything is fixed, you can start writing. I have a thick wool blend fabric, so that the seams are not thick, I smooth them out in different directions.
5) I laid a stabilizing stitch along the neck line.
6) I will process the neckline and armholes using a facing.
7) The facing is a separate part that always exactly follows the shape of the cut. I cut out these parts 4 cm wide.
8) I sewed a finishing stitch on the front side.
9) The bottom of the sundress was turned up and smoothed with a cobweb.
10) Thanks to this, the fold looks smooth and neat.
Despite the fact that sundresses are rare these days, they are the most feminine outfit that will never go out of style.
All the best!
