Working with bamboo is often quite different from working with other building materials. It requires a deep understanding of how the material behaves and some flexibility to adapt to changes in designs due to its irregular nature. Its properties lend itself to a variety of uses, making it extremely versatile without sacrificing aesthetics or environmental sustainability.
Whether you have a background in design, or are interested in working with bamboo for a project, there are 3 initial steps you must take to get started in the right direction. We’ll share the first 3 steps of OUR process that we use to create structures that are beautiful yet practical, using a resource that is beneficial to local communities and geographies, across various contexts.
Towards the end, we also dive into some questions that we get regarding our new, online course, the Principles of Bamboo Design, which is now open for enrollment!
