I was looking for a belt grinder and the ones I saw were mostly either too pricey, too large, or both. This one has been working very well for me, It makes it easy to sharpen knives and swords with it without having to worry about messing up the edge angle or scratching up the blade. And it's a very quick way to do it.
It's also handy for putting an actual edge on those Windlass blades that come unsharpened from the factory.
Sure, if you're very skilled at hand honing you can probably achieve a better edge, but that takes a lot of experience and time, and I'm very satisfied with the sharpening job that this tool does.
