This episode of Fat Stacks goes over Nicolaides The Natural Way to Draw - a tremendously influential and radical approach to drawing and art education - written more than 100 years ago!!!
This book marked an important transition from the classical and atelier style methods of training (i.e. the Bargue method) to a more modern way of thinking of "drawing as seeing". It became the basis of much of modern art education in the west. However, many of the exercises and approaches, as they are used currently, have been disconnected from their source, and lost Nicolaides’ original intention.
This video will go through the book and its exercises, offering an insight into the wisdom of Nicolaides The Natural Way to Draw.
