The 1904 St. Louis World's Fair Pipe Organ—the world's largest—and the major figures behind it are featured in this lavishly illustrated film presented from the perspective of pipe-organ historian Frederick R. Webber. As he recounts his boyhood impressions of the gigantic pipe organ, spotlighted in detail are designer George Ashdown Audsley and organ builder Murray M. Harris. Included are rare photos of the interior of Festival Hall. Join us as we take a sentimental tour of the 1904 St. Louis Louisiana Purchase Exposition, the Big Fair of Big Things. Included are detailed scenes of Philadelphia's Wanamaker Organ in its present-day configuration. Music by Michael Stairs. Pipedreams' Michael Barone narrates.
