In March of 1944 hundreds of prisoners were on the brink of escaping one of Germany's most secure prisoner of war camps, but things didn't quite go to plan. This is the story of the Stalag Luft III escape, one which covers the ingenuity and striking organisational qualities of the inmates and the tragic aftermath of their attempted prison break.
