Hello there!
In this video, we explore the life and philosophy of François de La Rochefoucauld, an underappreciated and relatively unknown Frenchman. His philosophy is grounded in the despicable and lacking aspects of human nature (vanity, hypocrisy, deception, etc.). This means his worldview is somewhat cynical, but that doesn't detract from the cutting truthfulness his ideas and maxims point towards. His ideas have implications for psychology, politics, culture, and more - you're definitely better served, in my opinion, by becoming familiar with his interesting works.
Have you heard of him before? I'd love to hear your stories below.
Thank you for watching!
