His newlywed wife, Samira Chauhan, had been having an affair with Eshan Mehta, Devansh's best friend, just before the wedding. When Devansh discovered the infidelity and a fight broke out, Samira smashed her husband's head with a crystal vase, causing him to lose consciousness and bleed severely. To cover up the crime, she and Eshan staged a fake crime scene, pretending it was a robbery.
