Hope you enjoy this video of the Highland Wildlife Park, which is located in the beautiful Cairngorms National Park in the Scottish Highlands.
It's about a 2.5-hour journey from Edinburgh to the Highland Wildlife Park by car and it's a super place to visit at any time of year. The park covers around 105-hectares and there's a drive-through reserve which is a particular favourite with visitors. Please check the website before you leave, as there has been a requirement to pre-book tickets before visiting.
The park is home to over 200 cold weather-adapted animals, from all around the world, with a particular focus on native Scottish wildlife. The park is home to the endangered Scottish Wildcat and Scotland's only Polar Bears. The park is owned and run by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (which also runs Edinburgh Zoo) and was opened in 1972. There are excellent visitor facilities, with a good restaurant and shop and you'll have a wonderful day out.
In this video -
Red Pandas, Amur Tiger, Arctic Fox, Snow Leopard, Polar Bears, Przewalski's Wild Horses, Vicuna, Bukhara Deer, Turkmenian Markhor, Northern Lynx, Scottish Wildcat, Great Grey Owl, Domestic Yak, European Bison, European Forest Reindeer, European Grey Wolf and Red Squirrels.
