A significant chunk of Sonic the Hedgehog's history has been brushed aside simply as "the bad years," without much effort having gone into preserving the actual stories that led to Sonic's more controversial or perhaps disappointing titles: Games like Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic Heroes, and to many, even Sonic Adventure 2.
