Can personal style die, or is it in fact everlasting and immortal?
I recently watched Mina Le’s video “The Death of Personal Style” and Nicky Reardon’s “How Celebrity Obsession Killed Personal Style” and wanted to add some of my own thoughts and critique to the matter. I’m analyzing the misconceptions surrounding personal style and fashion, and focusing on the aspect of personal style for the individual versus the collective. Many believe personal style is a fleeting trend or that it can “die” because it’s just a manifestation of our creative efforts and a tool for creative self expression, but here’s the thing: personal style is, to counter Mina Le’s statement, immortal, and thus can never die.
